Frequently
Asked
Questions
Do I have to be Nigerian to participate?
Absolutely not! You do not have to be Nigerian to join in on what we do. NYC is an element of the diaspora, which means that we are intimately connected to and welcoming of a great many cultures. Our goal is to bring people together to indulge in the plethora of beautiful foods, musics, dances, art, literature, and inventions connected to each of our cultural pasts. Everyone is invited to the party!
How can I get involved?
Reach out to us through our Contact page under the Resources tab in the banner of the website to learn about opportunities to support, collaborate, or exchange. Subscribe to our newsletter if you want to keep tabs on events. Meet up with us when you can!
What if I don’t live in Arizona?
Our team is networked across the United States, so it’s not impossible that circumstances would let us connect in person! Regardless, we provide virtual content and meetups to bridge the distance between us and wherever you might be tuning in from.
How old do I need to be?
Ah, yes, the “youth” in Nigerian Youth Collaborative. We provide the definition some fluidity, but if the culture calls you “Auntie” or “Uncle” then we will need to talk about your relationship to the work. In another light, however, we absolutely do welcome support from the Aunties and Uncles! Please reach out to us about our Affinity Memberships!
